What people could participate in my workation?
Most people – and so do you – think that a workation is not suitable for everyone. After all, it is a “working holiday” and therefore only suitable for people who have the opportunity to do their job at least temporarily, regardless of location and with the help of the Internet. In fact, most participants in Workations are self-employed entrepreneurs, freelancers or digital nomads who can serve their customers from anywhere in the world. Especially the younger generation, the so-called millennials, without family, but with great interest to experience something.
Fortunately, it doesn’t stop there. The field of potential participants is much wider: students, doctoral students and start-ups are also among this group. And again and again companies organize a workation or have it organized in order to do something good for their employees. In special cases it even happens that entire departments or entire companies take part in such an event. Have you ever thought about organizing an individual workation for a company – as a service, so to speak? There is a lot of potential for you here. A handful of providers are already doing this well – so the demand is definitely there for an incredibly large target group.
And it gets even better: If you remember that a workation is not limited to classic work, but can also mean working on yourself, your skills – just getting out of everyday life and getting involved in something new – then the target group can include absolutely anyone, regardless of the profession and background. Also a craftsman or a cashier at the supermarket is basically suitable to take part in a – of course fitting for their interests – Workation.
The 2 requirements for your target group
Ultimately, from our point of view, there are only two requirements for a person or a company to belong to the target group of a workation:
- You are open-minded and want to get involved in something new
- One is willing to surround oneself with other people who have the same interests or goals, to interact with them, to grow and to exchange knowledge & experiences.
That’s it. So the bottom line is a gigantic target group. That’s why workations are so unique. Of course, when organizing a workation you should limit yourself to a part of this target group and narrow it down. Your ideas, visions and passions determine how your unique workation will look like.
